Fwd: Fw: please help candy so she can continue to help us..So. Illinois animals

Please help Candy.

She is a huge link between the dogs saved from Southern IL getting up here to us.  She also helps with low cost spaying and neutering in So. IL to help with the mass amounts of unwanted dogs that end up being put down every day down there.

Look on her page at the Success stories!!  Because of what she is doing, all of these cats & dogs lives were spared and now have a home.

And like she says if 10 people were to help with $5 each, boom $50.  If those 10 people forwarded on to another 10 people, amazing things could happen for Candy, and more of the dogs potentially being gassed down in So. IL.    So please, if you can't find the means to donate now, please pass it along to another friend.

She works directly with my friend Brittany's rescue group, ARF-IL.org, among many others.  She is reputable, and a legit cause.

Thanks for your help....and don't forget....Rescue!

Krissy

Hi friends of animals,
it takes a steady cash flow to even skim the surface of the many needs to help animals ...
with the economy we are all aware of the past year, rescue and needy animals have taken a triple harder hit,,,, there is no way to even describe the demands and the needs coming at us every single day...

I am asking for help, again,,, if you know folks who can donate anything to my effort, please tap into any sources who might really want to give but arent sure how to funnel it through where it is most needed and is legitimately used for the animals in need...all area rescues are struggling and especially independent rescues who pay out of pocket and arent   receiving  grants and govt.  funding...

below, a sampling of my rescue work,, and no, this is NOTa narcissistic essay on me or an attempt to get a hero or honor award,, I just thought if you saw the faces and had a brief bio on them, it brings more meaning than a blank email and another plea for help ....

"Special K"-- pittie peaking out of her doghouse,, the owners  left the property after our May 8th storm because of severe damage to the trailor and property , and all his dogs sit there(5 of them) and wait for me to feed, water, apply biting-fly repellant daily,,, the family living in same town in temp housing , wont drive 8 blks to care for them,,, I had all the females spayed years ago and I cant forsake them,,, the family who owns dogs really are not mean spirited or into dogfighting, they just like to have the pitties around for protection and status, and when the storm hit and blew trees down, they havent been back since,, I have bought water buckets and supplies to keep these dogs as comfortable as I can with my limited resources..

"Money"  another of the pitties on property that suffered storm damage,,,,he waits daily for fly spray to keep them from eating off his ears and for a little handout from me,,,,

"Junie" smiling shep collie mix,,, got her off deathrow at my county pound and she is in boarding awaiting transport to a licensed rescue who is going to take her, but in the meantime, I am paying daily boarding $$ to keep her safe,, I have no room to foster at my house currently, have others here that came before her....

"Heathcliff" gorgeous PB English Setter,, got him off deathrow at pound and he is heartworm positive,,, thankfully, a generous Setter rescue is going to take him and pay for treatment when they find a foster home, but in meantime, he too, is boarding and I am personally responsible for that boarding bill,,,

"Spangle" cute white and blk shep/spitz/?? mix,,, another taken off deathrow and all the vaccines, and vet care is out of my pocket , and currently looking for a rescue to take him..

if anyone can help my effort, of sponsoring spays and care in the local low income neighborhoods, of providing for our county animals at our county animal control until I find rescue, please consider this,,,

these are my vet clinics where some of these animals are boarding,,,, a verification can be made and here are phone numbers

PET WELLNESS CENTER  (Marion, Illinois)  618-993-2273

QUALITY CARE ANIMAL HOSPITAL (Herrin, Illinois) 618-997-4272

CENTRAL HOSPITAL FOR ANIMALS (Herrin,Illinois) 618-997-6536

if 10 people donate $5.00, boom, $50.00  is collected and that is like $500.00 to me at the present time, my funds are so low,,,, a bag of Cat Chow is $10-12 dollars,, can you find someone to buy ONE bag for me, in one summer, can someone help with that,, could those of you belonging to organized religious groups, possibly approach them for help for the ANIMALS in their own community that a few struggling people are trying to handle...
the sturdy water buckets for these dogs in the neighborhoods are $6.00 at RURAL KING,, these arent cheap but the cheap ones are not sturdy enough so that the dogs knock them over ,, they go without water then, until I get there after work.....
the FLY REPELLANT at RURAL KING is about $8.00 per bottle,,, can someone buy ONE bottle for me, just once this summer....these are the daily, weekly purchases that can really add up in extreme weather, much like in the winter months, the constant purchase of straw adds up and depletes my wallet fast,,,

many of you copied here are out in your own trenches daily and also are desperate for funds,,, I support you and thank you too,,, and I thank you again for the generous help you have given me in the recent past.. and would not want ANYONE to jeopardize their own efforts or struggle to help another,, just pass the word please and as I always say, do NOT feel the obligation to explain or defend if one cannot give a penny....

thank you for listening,, if the photo images I am sending are removed, (sometimes my computer does that and I am  not sure why) please let me know and I will re-send the photos of the sampling of dogs shown..

in honest spirit of helping the animals,

Candy Thomas, Southern Illinois

Officially New Year

It has so far been a week into 2009 and I am feeling good. I divided up my check yesterday as planned (1 of 52).

I actually woke up a 1/2 hour early this morning to work out! Yes, you didnt hear me wrong. I've been working out on/off for the last 3-4 months, but I hate to do the really intense ones at night, because then I have to shower, so I thought if I can wake up early, then I'll get my workout in, and then I dont need to make excuses at night!

Comcast on Demand is really a sweet thing! I've been doing "Walk Away The Pounds" shows, and Jillian from Biggest Loser (intenses ones from above). Having them on demand works out awesomely :)

Its not even that I really want to lose weight, I just dont want to gain more! I dont want to have to buy new jeans every 6 months. I just want to fit into the dozen pairs I have (different sizes from the last 3 years or so).

My promise to myself...I will NOT buy size 16 jeans. I just wont. If I have to wear sweatpants because I continue to gain weight then fine. I will not even buy another pair of size 14.

5 years ago (when I was 24) I weighed no more than 120. Now, 5 years later, I can only assume that I weight 160. I'm really ashamed that I've let myself get this out of control. I always wonder when I see some 200+ lb person, didn't they notice the weight gain, it doesnt come overnight. But hello...this is my wakeup call. If I DONT do something about it now, in 2-3 years, I WILL be 200 lbs.

Thanks for listening.
